United Way Awards Area Businesses for Top-Performing Campaigns

United Way awards Century 21 with Small Business Campaign of the Year for the second straight year.

Three area businesses have been recognized by Marshfield Area United Way for their ongoing commitment to the organization and top-performing campaigns.

United Way awarded Weinbrenner Shoe Company with the Large Business Campaign of the Year.

Century 21, Mid-State Technical College, and Weinbrenner Shoe company all received Campaign of the Year awards in small, medium, and large business categories.

“Their commitment to United Way really makes a difference in our community. The funds raised by these companies and others in our community allows us to assure the need services are available where needed most,” said Paula Jero, Executive Director.

Small Business Campaign winner Century 21 has worked with United Way for about 36 years and received awards for Employee Participation and Increased Giving (+39% from previous year). 93% of their employees gave to United Way.

“We’re always very proud to be recognized,” said Century 21 owner Rita Blenker. “Most important is that everyone in the office loves to give their time and talent and treasure as much as we possibly can.”

Medium Business winner Mid-State Technical College increased giving by 54%, and 64% of employees gave to United Way. Large Business winner Weinbrenner Shoe Company increased donations by 86%, and 43% of their employees gave to the campaign.

Through community and business support, United Way was able to serve over 13,000 individuals in 2017. “We are incredibly grateful for companies that have been longtime supporters of United Way and believe in the work we do in our community,” Jero added.
