Navigate Finances with Expert, Personalized Advice

After a lifetime of working, attaining financial independence is a goal for most Americans. A financial planner can help provide security and comfort at any point in a person’s life, regardless of their age or economic status.

Whether just starting out in life or trying to transition into a comfortable post-work life, Thrivent Financial is one local resource to establish understanding in a complex financial world.

According to Nate Heeg, a Thrivent Financial Representative and licensed financial advisor, people’s greatest concerns when considering whom to work with are trust, cost, and perceived need.

“Financial planning is really life planning. Everyone has different goals and priorities for life,” said Heeg. “I am here to help you navigate through financial decisions, help you understand your options, and guide you through those decisions throughout your lifetime.”

Heeg encourages everyone to at least have an initial meeting with a financial expert, as they can help navigate the complex financial world at any stage of life.

“We all are born and we all die. It’s important to have a plan,” said Heeg. “It’s my job to be a guide, to help explain what you can be doing now to help ensure security later on in life as well as have things in place to protect your plan should life events happen.”

To set up an appointment with Heeg, simply call his office at 715-898-2561.

“During that first meeting, we discuss what things matter to you, what’s most important to you,” he said, adding that there is no obligation or cost involved. “I’m asking questions, just having a conversation to get to know you better.”

With his trusty whiteboard, Heeg reviews the basics of financial planning and helps people no matter which point of their life they are currently experiencing.

“The earlier you start planning and understanding, the better off you’ll be,” said Heeg. “However, if you haven’t started planning yet, it’s never too late to start.”

Though there may appear to be a plethora of financial information available online, the accuracy and validity of that information can be questionable. The value of professional, personalized financial advice from a licensed advisor is irreplaceable. Similar to how someone should see a doctor for a medical procedure or an attorney for legal advice, financial planning is something for which people should seek expert advice.

“Every situation is different, and I work to customize a solution based on your needs,” said Heeg. “Whether investments, insurance, or any other financial tool- what it comes down to is what matters in your situation and in your current time in life.”

Continued education in the industry combined with Thrivent’s experience since 1902 helping individuals achieve financial peace of mind, Heeg is well equipped to help navigate the complexities of financial and life planning and is eager to help people in any way he can.

MEET NATE

Nate is a Stratford native. He enjoys spending time with his wife of 18 years, Rebekah, and their five sons: James, Daryn, Ethan, Henry, and Micah, as well as his dog “Winnie” and cat “Duchess.” He attends The Mill Church in Stratford, WI, and enjoys the outdoors, sports, and drumming. He serves as a Board Member for The Hannah Center in Marshfield, a volunteer at The Mill Church, Huddle Leader for FCA at Stratford High School, and a coach for middle school and high school track at Stratford Schools.

Fun questions with Nate:

If you didn’t have to sleep, what would you do with the extra time?
I like to travel. I would take mini trips. I love to see new places.

If you could turn any activity into an Olympic sport, what would you have a good chance at winning a medal for?

“The Office” trivia.

Name a song you have completely memorized:

“Desperados Waiting for the Train” by Jerry Jeff Walker.

When people come to you for help, what do they usually want help with?

If they’re dealing with a tough decision. As an advisor of their life. That’s maybe why I love what I do. I’ve always had to deal with confidentiality, even if it’s not been regulated.

What would be your first question after waking up from being cryogenically frozen for 100 years?

Are there flying cars?

Who has impressed you most with what they’ve accomplished?

People who stand for what they believe but don’t buckle to peer pressure. Belief is a big deal for me, so if you believe something and you see it through, even with backlash, facing adversity for what you believe in.
