Sean Patrick McGreevey, 61, Marshfield, WI passed away peacefully early Thursday, August 2, 2018 at the House of the Dove, Marshfield.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Wednesday, August 8 at the Wildwood Park Pavilion from 5:30 pm to 8 pm.
Sean was born on May 30, 1957 and adopted by Dr. Donald and LuAnn (Jaeger) McGreevey in Portland, Oregon.
Sean was a Medical Physicist who took pride in his work devising creative tools to enhance treatment for his patients. He was also a fabulous cook – he could make a mean grilled salmon and loved making meals that were “restaurant quality.” Prior to his passing, he became a home beer brewer and was fascinated by the science behind the recipes.
He was married to Dana Holmstrom-Simons in Portland, OR and later divorced. He helped raise Dana’s children Erin (Chris) Tavern, Tacoma, WA and Jonathan (Amanda) Simons, Portland, OR. He was later united in marriage to Karen Koss (originally of Schofield, WI) on June 17, 2000 in Puyallup, WA. From that union came their wonderful son Aaron.
Sean is survived by his wife, mother, and sisters, Caryn (John) Tilton of Welches, OR and Shari (Jim) Kiley of Lincoln, CA. He is also survived by Karen’s family Sue (Ken) Smith of Jacksonville, FL, Linda (Lee) Garvey of Freedom, WI, and Mike (Sara) Koss of Wausau, WI. He is further survived by numerous extended family and friends.
Sean is predeceased by his father, brother, Scott McGreevey, and mother- and father-in-law, James and Marie Koss.
Memorial donations may be made in Sean’s name to the House of the Dove, Marshfield, WI.
The family wishes to extend a special thank you to Marshfield Healthcare System staff who have cared for Sean over the years and the staff at House Of The Dove for their compassion, kindness, and support.
