School District Partnership with MCIS Inspires Careers

The School District of Marshfield appreciates the continued partnership with Marshfield Clinic Health System – specifically Marshfield Clinic Information Services (MCIS).

Throughout the school year, staff from MCIS came to Marshfield High School to talk to students about computer science and information technology (IT) careers.

On December 12, 2017, twenty-three students had the opportunity to tour the innovative environment at MCIS and learn more about careers in healthcare IT from dynamic presenters.

The benefit of this world-of-work experience for high school students includes exposure to a wide variety of career opportunities in the Marshfield community that students may pursue after graduation.

Marshfield Clinic Health System (MCHS) oversees Marshfield Clinic and other subsidiaries, including Security Health Plan of Wisconsin, Inc., Marshfield Clinic Health System Foundation, Marshfield Medical Center in Marshfield, Flambeau Hospital in Park Falls and Lakeview Medical Center in Rice Lake. Marshfield Clinic, with more than 50 locations in Wisconsin, serves patients through accessible, high quality health care, research and education; with more than 700 physician specialists in 86 specialties and subspecialties and more than 6,500 employees.

MCIS is the information technology division of MCHS. Its partnership with the Health System supports the development of emerging technology. MCIS is designed to inspire ideas and innovation that drives effective healthcare delivery across the continuum of care.
