Initial Interviews Conducted by Board of Education

OnFocus – The search for the next superintendent of the Marshfield School District moves forward with the completion of initial interviews conducted by the Board of Education and three advisory committees consisting of Administrators, Staff & Stakeholders on May 7, 2018.

The Board of Education reviewed candidates and committee feedback in a closed session after the interviews concluded on Monday, May 7, 2018 and determined which candidates will participate in a public presentation on Wednesday, May 9th beginning at 5:00 p.m. at the 2nd Street Community Center located at 211 E Second Street. The Board will meet in closed session at the conclusion of the presentations and determine which candidate(s) will participate in a second interview scheduled for Monday, May 14, 2018.

The following candidates have been named finalists and will continue forward in the hiring process (alphabetical order):

Dr. Anthony “Tony” Brazouski earned a Bachelors of Arts in English Literature from Marquette University and a Masters in Educational Leadership and Doctor of Philosophy in Leadership for Learning and Service from Cardinal Stritch University. He has served as a teacher, staff developer, assistant principal, principal, assistant superintendent, and chief academic officer. Tony’s research and published writings focus on the empowerment of teachers to sustain meaningful change, and he has also served as an adjunct instructor at the graduate level.

Dr. Ryan Christianson has been the Director of Human Resources for the Wisconsin Rapids Public Schools since 2012, where he has served as a school administrator for a total of 15 years. Before taking on his current role as the Director of Human Resources, Dr. Christianson was an associate principal for five years ahead of serving as the Principal of Wisconsin Rapids Lincoln High School from 2008 to 2012. Prior to his work as a school administrator in Wisconsin Rapids, Dr. Christianson taught science for seven years in the School District of Marshfield from 1996 to 2003, where he also served as science department chair for five years. A former Advance Placement (AP) teacher and past AP coordinator, Dr. Christianson now functions as an AP consultant for the College Board presenting workshops to administrators on the topic of “Building an AP Program.” He is also a member of the Wisconsin AP Advisory Council.
