EAU CLAIRE – The Marshfield doubles team of Emily Weis and Lauren Weigel were eliminated from state contention at the WIAA Division 1 girls tennis sectional on Wednesday at Eau Claire Memorial High School.
Weis and Weigel lost their opening match and a third-place match to finish fourth at No. 2 doubles. Match scores were not provided.
Stevens Point’s Taylor Konczal and Lillie James won the flight to qualify for the 2018 WIAA State Individual Girls Tennis Tournament in Madison, which will be Oct. 11-13 at Nielsen Tennis Stadium.
Eau Claire Memorial won the team title, which combined matches from Tuesday’s subsectionals and the sectional, to advance to the 2018 WIAA State Team Girls Tennis Tournament at Nielsen Tennis Stadium on Oct. 19-20.
