Level 2 of the WIAA Football Playoffs provided us with several rematches and some interesting results.

The biggest shock of the night locally was in Stanley as the Stratford Tigers took it to the Stanley-Boyd Orioles 35-0. The game was a rematch of their week 1 matchup when the Tigers lost to Stanley-Boyd at home 21-14. You can watch Stratford’s win here, and see an interview with Coach Tubbs and Jordan Becker here.

The Spencer Columbus Rockets went up against the Amherst Falcons and lost 49-18. This is the third year in a row that the Rockets have lost to Amherst in the playoffs, loosing in 2015 in the Division 5 State Championship Game, and in 2016 in a Level 2 Game at Amherst. The Rockets end their season 9-2. You can watch the Spencer/Columbus game here

Stratford will travel to Amherst for a Level 3 game.

In Division 7 we had two games that featured familiar foes. We start in Edgar as the Wildcats hosted the Pittsville Panthers. Both teams were in the Marawood Conference prior to Pittsville moving to the Central Wisconsin Small this year. Edgar won the game 35-0 and have completed their 10th shutout in 11 games. Edgar will next host Bangor who beat Independence/Gilmanton 60-6. Edgar and Bangor were ranked 1 and 2 in the final WSN coaches poll for the regular season. You can watch the Edgar vs Pittsiville game here

Also in Division 7 we saw another meeting between two Cloverwood foes as the Abbotsford Falcons traveled down to Loyal to take on the Greyhounds, these two teams met just two weeks ago in Week 9 with Loyal coming out on top 8-7. Abbotsford turned the tables in this meeting shutting out the Greyhounds 17-0. The Falcons will travel to Clear Lake to take on the Warriors who beat Hurley 31-14.

In Division 6 we saw another rematch, as the Marathon Red Raiders hosted the Auburndale Apaches, and Marathon came out victorious again as they beat Auburndale 27-6. Marathon will next play at Iola-Scandinavia who beat Crivitz 59-26.

All games are tentatively scheduled for Friday November 3rd at 7:00PM.
