Held Hostage by Heroin: MACY at Central Wisconsin State Fair

A Marshfield Clinic Center for Community Outreach and Marshfield Area Coalition for Youth column (Submitted to FOCUS)

Marshfield Area Coalition for Youth (MACY) and Marshfield Clinic will have a booth in the white Expo building at the Central Wisconsin State Fair Aug. 31-Sept. 4 to provide education on efforts to reduce prescription drug abuse and heroin use in Marshfield.

MACY’s Drug Task Force will share materials and resources created for a community awareness campaign called “Held Hostage by Heroin.”

Visitors of all ages can participate in activities for a chance to win prizes, receive free popcorn or can purchase 2018 MACY calendars that include beautiful pictures of local scenery taken by a Marshfield resident. Proceeds will benefit coalition efforts to reduce and prevent underage drinking, prescription drug abuse and heroin use in Marshfield.

Visitors can also participate in a survey to gauge community perception of Marshfield’s illicit drug use. To participate in the survey, visit www.marshfield4youth.org for more information.

Marshfield Area Coalition for Youth (MACY) is working to make Marshfield the best place to raise a family. MACY’s Drug Task Force is striving to reduce and prevention prescription drug abuse and heroin use. MACY is supported by Marshfield Clinic Center for Community Outreach and more than 200 members representing over 40 organizations in Marshfield.
