Marshfield Fire & Rescue has a new, but familiar friendly face greeting visitors. Former Deputy City Clerk Lori Panzer began her new position as the MFRD’s Administrative Associate this week.

No stranger to municipal work, Panzer has been working for the City of Marshfield for more than 28 years.

“I started in the City Assessor’s office in the position of Assessment Secretary on February 14, 1990 and I worked in that position for 9 years until April of 1999,” said Panzer. “On April 7, 1999, I began working in the City Clerk’s office. I was the Deputy City Clerk for the last 19 years until I started my new position as Administrative Associate IV at the Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department on Monday, August 20th.”

As Administrative Associate, Panzer is responsible for providing all clerical support for department personnel, processing accounts payable and accounts receivable, greeting individuals coming into the station or calling, data entry, preparing various reports, budget related items, and other tasks.

“Lori is the first point of contact for the public with the Fire and Rescue Department,” said Chief Scott Owen. “Having someone in the front office with the positive attitude and customer service experience she has sets the tone for the customer.”

Panzer brings strong customer service skills, years of past office experience, the ability to multitask, and an extensive knowledge of City government operations to her new role.

“Many of the department members have known Lori for a long time and that makes this transition even easier,” added Owen.

“I’m looking forward to learning new, exciting and challenging things and I want to continue doing what I do best: serving and helping people,” said Panzer. “I will miss all the City staff at City Hall that I have worked with over the years and all the regular customers that I’ve dealt with over the years, but I’m looking forward to my new journey in life at the Marshfield Fire and Rescue Department.”

Owen encourages anyone who calls or comes to the station to please be patient with Panzer as she learns her new position.

“This is a very different, dynamic environment compared to working in the City Clerk’s office and there are a lot of different programs to learn here,” he said. “We are excited to have Lori join us!”
