In a video message to Facebook followers today, Marshfield Fire & Rescue Chief Scott Owen shared that members of the department will be sporting pink throughout the month of October, in honor of Breast Cancer Awareness month.

“Annually we permit department members to wear their pink t-shirts as part of breast cancer awareness month,” said Owen. “It used to be only on Fridays but a few years ago we changed it to any day in October.”

Owen said that wearing pink is one small way that the MFRD team joins the cause.

“It is a simple way we can show our support for this important cause,” he said. “Many of us here at the department have personal experiences with family members who have had breast cancer.”
