OnFocus – On Monday, June 11th, 2018 at 6:30 PM Dr. Brian Ewert will make a statement at the Wood County Democrat’s meeting at the Everett Roehl Marshfield Public Library in Marshfield regarding the Justice Department’s attack on protection for people with pre-existing medical conditions.

Brian Ewert has been a doctor in Marshfield for 25 years and is running for Congress.

The attack by our country’s leadership on over 50 million people in the United States with pre-existing conditions is particularly callous and reckless even for them. This protection saves lives. For the last 8 years, people no longer lived in fear of losing their healthcare because of their medical history.

This is an attack on the child who has asthma, the cancer survivor, the mother who went through a complicated childbirth delivery, the person suffering from depression – everyone who has had a disease. With this one action, our country’s leadership is dismantling and destroying one of the foundations of strong communities that we all hold dear.

My career began with an oath to “Do no harm.” It is a vow that everyone who dedicates their life to caring for people takes officially or in spirit. It is clear that our country’s leadership has taken no such oath.
