The Chaparrals played host to the Plover Pterodactyls on Wednesday night. However, they were not very gracious hosts as they beat Plover 14-0 in seven innings.

The Chaps got their scoring started in the second inning. They rattled off seven runs in 13 at-bats. A wild pitch and two fielding errors by Plover helped the Chaps in their scoring.

All of the runs scored in the second inning by the Chaps were also with two outs.

The Chaps added another three runs in the third inning as the first five batters got on base.

The Chaps finished their scoring with another four runs in the fourth inning. The Chaps were once again helped by Plover with a walk and three batters hit.

The Chaps finished the game with 16 hits and only one error. The 16 hits were spread out over 10 batters.

In total, eight different batters got on base multiple times. Those included Nate McDonald, Justin Rayburn, Riley Erickson, Sam Schwanebeck, Lucius Messerschmidt, Alex Steines, Noah Panzer, and Bobby Pilz.

The offense wasn’t the only thing that was clicking last night though.

Jack Donahue was on the mound for the Chaps. He finished the night with a complete game.

Donahue threw a very efficient 85 pitches while only giving up five hits. Donahue also had five strikeouts and no walks.

The Chaps travel to Eau Claire today to take on the Cavaliers in a non-league game. First pitch is scheduled for 7:30.
