Marshfield Man Arrested on Multiple Charges in Marathon and Wood Counties

OnFocus: On 1/11/2018 Marshfield officers responded to a disturbance at 2002 N Lincoln Ave caused by the individual placing a suspicious device in the front yard, causing both the victims (34 year old Marshfield male and 44 year old Marshfield female) and law enforcement to believe it may be an improvised explosive device.

During the multi-hour response, many residents were displaced and streets were closed while Marathon County Bomb Squad responded and rendered the device safe.  Marshfield Police Department collected the item as evidence.  The device was some PVC tubing which had firework mortars packed inside and was pointed at the residence.

During the investigation it was learned that the suspect, a 42 year old Marshfield male was jealous over a recent breakup with the female victim.  The female reported that earlier in the month the suspect had also threatened her with a taser at his address on E Blodgett St.  Contact was made with suspect and he admitted to placing the device in the yard of the victims.  The suspect was transported to Wood County Jail on a probation hold.

Based on the investigation, the suspect, Jacob M Boushack (9/24/75) was arrested and referred to Marathon County DA’s office for Disorderly Conduct for the Disturbance at the N Lincoln address.

The subject was also arrested and referred to Wood County DA’s office for 2nd Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and Possession of Methamphetamine for the Taser incident and subsequent search of the subject’s property.

Lastly, the subject was referred on Felony Bail Jumping due to pending Clark County Methamphetamine and OWI arrests from 2016.
