Another Fire…Check Your Smoke Alarms!

Shortly before 2 AM, Marshfield Fire & Rescue Department responded to a call of a residential structure fire at the corner of Cedar and 15th Street. One member of the residence was transported to Marshfield Medical Center for smoke inhalation.

MFRD posted to their Facebook page that at the time of dispatch the temperature was -12 degrees, with windchills of -30.

This morning, fire personnel are on scene investigating the cause of the fire. Deputy Chief Troy Weiland said, “We are in our early stages of the investigation. We will know more within a few hours.”

This marks the second fire within in just two days for MFRD.

“It’s important that everyone check their smoke detectors and know they are in working order,” said Weiland.
