76 dogs were seized from two separate properties in Babcock and Remington, 34 from one property and 42 from the other.

The Wood County Sheriff’s department assisted the county Humane Officer to remove the dogs Friday and Sunday, causing South Wood County to close to the public to accommodate the influx over the weekend and into Monday.

Investigation is still ongoing as to the nature of the dog’s situation and no other details are available at this time, stated Capt. Quentin Ellis.

The humane society provided a list of supplies for those who wish to donate toward care. Donations can be dropped off by the front door (if donating boiled chicken, ring the bell).

  • 30&50 Gallon Garbage Bags
  • Laminating Sheets
  • Disposable Gloves
  • Puppy chow and wet food
  • Dish Soap/Hand Sanitizer
  • old towels/blankets
